Part of the project is to improve climate forecasting, monitoring of climatic change and enhanced preparedness through the installation of 20 automated weather stations (AWS). Aquaquest, as sub-contractor of Campbell Scientific, assisted with the installation and configuration of the 20 AWS and actively liaised with the Zambia Meteorological Department and international suppliers to ensure the project was implemented timely. Furthermore, ZMD staff were trained in the installation and operation of the AWS.
